Nominations for Ward 6 Member of the Pedestrian Advisory Council
Last year, I introduced legislation creating the District's first Pedestrian Advisory Council (PAC). Creating a livable, walkable community requires us to be proactive and thoughtful about increasing pedestrian safety and accessibility. The PAC is an opportunity to have more neighborhood feedback and recommendations to the city agencies making decisions that impact pedestrians every day.
The PAC will begin its work in the coming months and I'm putting a call out to all neighbors interested in serving as the Ward 6 representative. If you are interested or know someone you'd like to recommend, please fill out the nomination form below by February 12, 2010.
Purpose of the Pedestrian Advisory Council: Serve as the advisory body to the Mayor, the Council of the District of Columbia, and the District agencies on matters pertaining to the improvement of pedestrian safety and accessibility.
Time Commitment: The term on the PAC will be 3 years. The time commitment will vary, but most likely include short meetings once every month or two.
