If you're anywhere near the new baseball stadium around 6:00 this evening, don't be startled when you see fireworks taking to the sky. We promise, baseball hasn't come early.

Rather, the stadium folks are doing dry runs of the fireworks displays. MPD 1st District Commander David Kamperin sent the following notice to residents: "Between 6pm – 7pm tonight, as part of their pre-game checks, the Nationals will be setting off fireworks at the new stadium. DCFD, the Fire Marshall and MPD will be on the scene."
