Councilmember Tommy Wells Adds Additional Hearing on CFSA Audits On Saturday, April 12, 2008, Councilmember Tommy Wells will add an additional hearing on the recent audits of the Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) to his previously scheduled hearing on the proposed FY2009 budget for the agency. “The auditor’s findings raise some serious red flags about the integrity of the CFSA contracting office,” commented Mr. Wells. At the request of Councilmember Wells, the District of Columbia Auditor conducted two reports entitled “Audit of Child and Family Services Agency’s Contracting and Quality Assurance Procedures” and “Audit of Child and Family Services Agency’s Congregate Care Contract Expenditures.” The additional hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004. This Roundtable has been scheduled to allow the District Auditor to present her findings on the above mentioned audits. Following the Auditor’s testimony the Committee will continue with its previously scheduled budget hearing on the Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) FY 2009 budget request. During the budget hearing, Councilmember Wells will receive comments from the Executive regarding both the budget request and the audit findings. |
