On Thursday, October 9th, WMATA is hosting a public meeting on several bus routes that cut through Ward 6. All of the "D" bus routes will be the subject of the meeting intended to get customer and rider feedback to improve service. Got an opinion about the "D" lines? Make sure you attend the meeting. If you can't make the meeting, feel free to leave your comments below and we'll pass them on to WMATA. Here's the announcement from DDOT: Public Meeting on “D” Bus Routes Metro soliciting Community Input to Improve Service WASHINGTON, DC — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is encouraging transit riders and residents to attend a public meeting Thursday, October 9, 2008, to voice their opinions about how to improve service on the Metrobus “D” Routes. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is hosting the meeting, as part of its Service Evaluation Study, to develop recommendations for improvements to a number of Metrobus routes including:
* Sibley– Stadium Armory Line (D1, D3, D6)Hospital * Glover– Dupont Circle Line (D2)Park * IvyCity– Union Station Line (D4) * MacArthur Blvd– Georgetown Line (D5) * HospitalCenterLine (D8) Meeting Information: What: Public Meeting on Metrobus “D” Routes When: October 9, 2008, 6:30pm-8:30pm Where: Department of Housing and Community Development 801 North Capitol Street, NW , 8th Floor The Department of Housing and Community Development is located at the corner of North Capitol and H Streets, NW. It can be reached by Metrobus Routes D1, D3, D4, and D8, and it is 5 blocks from the Union Station Metro station.
