It's National Night Out! Where will you be? National Night Out is an opportunity for neighbors and MPD officers to meet, discuss and work together to improve our communities. - For residents of PSAs 106 and 107, a celebration will take place at Peterbug's (between the Watkins field and Safeway on E Street SE) from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Enjoy burgers, hot dogs, and other treats. - For neighbors in Northwest and ANC 6C, a celebration will take place at Golden Rule Plaza, 1050 New Jersey Ave, NW, from 3:00 - 7:00 pm. Enjoy a free cook-out with MPD officers and residents. - For residents around the Sherwood Recreation Center, swing by starting at 5:00 pm for a meet and greet with officers and cookout. - For neighbors near the Rosedale Recreation Center, the evening kicks off at 6:00 pm with officers working the grills, as well as providing free classes and trainings on theft prevention. - In Southwest DC, the Greenleaf Recreation Center will play host to a big NNO event, including a kick ball game and ice cream social. Events begin at 6 pm. - At Marion Park, officers from the 1D1 substation will gather with neighbors (and their four-legged friends) in the park for meet-and-greets, ice cream, and discussions about neighborhood safety. The event starts at 5 pm. - And in Potomac Gardens, MPD will work with neighbors getting ready for a community walk. Things get started at 6 pm, but at the end of the evening, officers will be showing The Dark Knight and hold a raffle for the kids to win prizes.
