MPD 1st District Commander Diane Groomes has advised residents that MPD is on the lookout for suspects following a weekend robbery spree in PSA 106 and 107. Below is a brief description of each linked robbery. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Raymond Stargell at 698-0549. FRIDAY - 1200 E Street, SE at 10:58 pm - citizen was robbed by three young males at gunpoint, money and cellphone taken - 300 12th Streeet, SE at 11:00 pm - citizen was robbed by three young males at gunpoint, money and cellphone taken SATURDAY - 700 E Street, SE at 12:40 am - citizen robbed by three young males, money and cellphone taken (did not see a gun) - 200 Kentucky Ave, SE at 7:50 pm - citizen robbed at gunpoint by two males, money taken - 1300 D Street, SE at 9:25 pm - citizen robbed at gunpoint, money and cellphone taken MPD has released the following general description and asked residents to be on the lookout for three black youths, age range 8-18 years old, wearing all black clothing. The gun is described as a regular pistol and three times it was stated to have a long barrel. Witnesses reported seeing the youth near the Safeway grocery store and possibly running into it. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Raymond Stargell at 698-0549. UPDATE 5/9/2007: MPD Dectective Raymond Stargell has reported that arrests have been made for all four robberies and that MPD is in the process of recovering the items stolen.
