Tommy Announces May 9th "Community Walk Through" in Hill East |

On Wednesday, May 9, 2007, Councilmember Tommy Wells and representatives from key government agencies will lead a “Community Walk Through” in parts of the Hill East neighborhood. MPD 1st District Commander Diane Groomes and members of the Mayor’s Ward 6 Neighborhood Services Core Team will also take part in the event.
The Walk Through – focusing on public safety concerns and hazards – will begin at 6:30 pm at the corner of 12th and D Street, SE. Community members are encouraged to take part in the Walk Through to share their concerns for follow-up by the Councilmember and Core Team. Councilmember Wells has hosted similar “Community Walk Throughs” in other neighborhoods in Hill East, near Northeast, and Southwest communities.
The May 9th Walk Through will begin at 6:30 pm at the corner of 12th and D Street, SE. The group will walk through Walker Court, Kentucky Courts, and several alleys along the route as necessary. UPDATE, 5/7/2007: Correction, Commander Groomes will be out of town but Inspector Keegan and officers from PSA 107 will join the Walk Through. Also attending will be Michael Kelly, Director of DC Housing Authority and Skip Coburn from the 1st District Citizens Advisory Council.
